ODE TO COFFEE

OVERVIEW:

For this personal project, I created an alphabet poster for one of my favorite things: coffee. I created 26 different coffee illustrations – one for each letter of the alphabet.

GOAL:

Explore one of my favorite things while strengthening my graphic design and illustration skills.

CONSTRAINTS:

Find 26 different coffee drinks – one for each letter of the alphabet.

Create designs that are consistent and understandable.

DESIGNING:

After brainstorming different beverages and finalizing a list of 26 different drinks, I began illustrating. Creating an effective, symmetric layout, coming up with a color scheme, and choosing a title and font were also key aspects of my design process. I ended up choosing a blue color theme, to help convey the relaxing, welcoming experience I feel when I drink coffee. 

REFLECTION & NEXT STEPS:

This process was so enjoyable! I loved the challenge that this product posed for me, and found the overall process extremely rewarding. This project taught me a key insight about myself as a designer: I love creating for something about which I am passionate.
